In the past I have always said that I would not wear contacts, well, that has changed since I decided to pick up cosplaying. Well, I had ordered my conact lenses last week in preperation for CosChess so that I would have some time to get use to wearing them.
I had originally thought that it would be an easy ordeal, all I have to do is just open my eye and place the lens into my eyes right? Its just that simple right? Well, turns out I can't exactly keep my eyes open fully while trying to place the lens in. When I had first went to order the contact lenses the lady in charge gave me some advice to prepare me for wearing contacts for the first time - to touch the white portion of my eye when I'm at home and try to do it so that I would get used to touching my eyes. Sadly I didn't listen to her advice and didn't practice at all, that was a grave mistake. Last friday when I went to collect my lenses and try it out for the first time my body kept on jerking everytime I tried to put the contacts in, even after about 2 hours of trying it I just could not get event one contact into my eye. Luckily for me the optician had foresaw that such a thing might happen and had prepared some spare trail lenses for me, so she asked my to, over the weekend, practice by touching the white portion of my eye.
Over the busy weekend I managed to find some time to practice touching the white portion of my eyes and had somewhat gotten used to the feeling.
Today I had to do something in the morning so I was out and about for most of the morning and afternoon and in the evening I had to go back to try the contact lenses again. Thankfully the opticians advice was good, I was able to keep my eyes open longer than the previous time but it still took the optician helping me place a contact into my eyes and about half and hour before I was able to place it into my eyes, on my own. Then came the taking out part which took sometime and then put it in again which took quite some time and I had to wear them home.
At home I had a tough time trying to take out my contacts, on the bright sight at least I managed to get it out, well I need a lot of pratice before I can wear and remove them with ease.
